Electrical length measuring device

We rely on modern technology for root canal treatments. This makes it possible to work more precisely and therefore significantly increase the likelihood of success of the therapy.

In addition to X-ray technology, we therefore use an electrometric length measuring device. This determines the exact length of the root canal by means of a high-precision measurement of the electrical resistance.

A normal X-ray only provides a two-dimensional image, in which the end of the canal is not always clearly visible.

However, knowledge of the exact root canal length is a prerequisite for all of the following work steps (cleaning and filling). The canal must be treated all the way down to the root tip.

The advantages of electrical length measurement:

  • Electrical measurement is more precise than X-ray diagnostics, because it determines the actual end of the inflamed root canal area.
  • We can also do away with some of the X-rays that would otherwise be necessary.
